Why deploy the army when the police force is good enough?
First of all, why do the defence ministry need to deploy the military? Is there an unrest happening on the streets? The police force already have sufficient manpower to deal with the enforcement of the movement control order. Furthermore, General Operation Force (Pasukan Gerak Am-PGA), the enforcement officers of the various municipal councils nationwide and the voluntary security force (RELA) can also be deployed to assist the police force in enforcing the movement control.
The military deployment is completely unnecessary since there is no civil disobedience taking place. It is only the people are still unclear of the situation, given the fact of the government's continuous flip flop on relating information and details to the public. Furthermore there are also inconsistencies among minister when certain announcements were made and such had indeed confused the public.
Furthermore, we wonder if the defence minister is authorised to deploy the army into the streets and whether his decree is made in accordance to the law? Did he consult the Chief of Defence Force and the Service Chiefs' Council before making such unwanted statements?
Earlier, the Chief of Defence Forces has assured the public that the military will not be deployed to the streets to enforce the movement control order. It was only the defence minister who is overly keen in demonstrating his powers against the will of our people.
The masses is already experiencing the rising inflation of goods, people were not assured of the continuous supply of food, people are not assured that there will be no price hike in such situation, people were not confident on the way this government is handling the situation given the fact that it has lost control of the situation.
We question the competency of the home affairs minister as there were a number of flip flops on his part on how the police and the security agencies under his ministry should be deployed instead of having the military to step in to deal with such.
Is the home affairs minister still busy trying to woo over Pakatan Harapan MPs prior to the next parliamentary sittings? The prime minister had said that he already has 114 MPs behind him and how come he is still trying to woo MPs over to their side?
And this is what made the entire enforcement activities a mess when ministers are not focus, but in the end blaming our people over the problems.
