Chinese New Year series of exciting events in Penang!
Next, join in with the celebration of festive Chinese New Year at our Penang Chief Minister's Chinese New Year Open House on the 1st Day of the Lunar Calendar, 3rd February 2011, at PISA from 10am till 1pm.
Following that, the Penang Snake Temple will be celebrating the 'Chor Sor Kong' Deity Birthday Celebration on 8th February 2011. This celebration is conducted throughout the day and is held at the Snake Temple, Bayan Lepas.
On 10th February 2011, witness as 'Thni Kong' or the Heavenly God's Birthday Celebration is conducted at the Chew Jetty, Weld Quay from 9pm till the very next morning.
And DO-NOT-MISS the all-day Chinese New Year Cultural & Heritage Celebration on 12th February 2011 from 3pm till 12midnight organised by the Penang State Government, Penang Chinese Clan Council and Clan Associations Youth Committee, Penang within the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE of George Town at Acheen Street, Armenian Street, Cannon Street, Ah Quee Street, Soo Hong Lane, Chulia Street, Kampung Kolam.
To celebrate the last day of the Chinese New Year, the Penang Chinese Town Hall will stage their annual Chap Goh Meh event with a series of entertaining activities beginning from 8pm at Penang Chinese Town Hall, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling.
Lastly, on the final day of the Chinese New Year Celebration, the 'Chap Goh Meh' Celebration is held at Esplanade, Penang from 4pm and co-organised by the State Tourism Development & Culture together with ASTRO. With that, expect an all-exciting Chinese New Year Celebration for your special reunion here in Penang.
