The Penang state government's Senior Citizens Appreciation Programme was kick started yesterday with senior citizens came in thousands to selected Maybank branches in Penang and Seberang Perai to collect their cash appreciation award.

Penang Chief Minister and DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng today thank members of DAP, PKR and PAS for their tireless effort in getting majority of the senior citizens in the state to register for the appreciation award.

And today, Guan Eng who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagan dropped by at some of the Maybank branches located in Seberang Perai, mainly the Sungai Dua, Jln Ong Yi How and Bagan Luar respectively.

Say no to racist politicians

We cannot ignore the ugly truth that racism is the consequence of privilege, institutionalised discrimination and the claim of supremacy by one group. The sad thing is that there is no national effort on a credible scale to destroy the racist mentality. We must destroy racism by openly condemning it and rejecting it in whatever form it takes, including the form of a race-based political party.
