Guan Eng's Birthday

DAP Penang State Committee will be organising a special lunch to celebrate our party Secretary General and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's birthday.

The birthday celebration will be held on 8 December in Jade Palace Hotel at 12.00pm. Members who are interested to join in this party are invited to call our state party headquarters on 6 December at Tel 04-2271397 before 2.00pm.

Wahai Umno dan kesemua NGO-NGO yang diperhamba olehnya, janganlah berlagak-lagak seperti Tuhan. Siapakah kamu-kamu semua untuk memberikan satu ketetapan ataupun sejenis "fatwa" untuk mensabitkan seorang itu bersalah oleh kerana beliau hanya memberikan kenyataan itu berpandukan apa yang tertera di dalam ajaran Al-Quran (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:56). Para pemimpin Umno dan hamba-hamba NGO di bawahnya tidak berhak untuk mengarah ataupun menentukan mana-mana pihak yang bersalah dan dihukum. Kalaulah seseorang itu benar-benar bersalah, sudah lama orang tersebut telah menerima akibatnya. Tetapi kenapa sehingga kini, orang tersebut masih selamat berada di bumi ini? Say no to racist politicians

By R Kengadharan The fundamental problem in Malaysia today is racism, and each day it escalates to a more dangerous level. We cannot ignore the ugly truth that racism is the consequence of privilege, institutionalised discrimination and the claim of supremacy by one group. The sad thing is that there is no national effort on a credible scale to destroy the racist mentality. We must destroy racism by openly condemning it and rejecting it in whatever form it takes, including the form of a race-based political party. The result of the 2008 general election did provide a ray of hope for a political system dominated by two multiracial parties, but the euphoria was short-lived. No true political observer can be oblivious of the fact that racial politicking is making a comeback and threatening to push the nation ever backward.
